Just a quick reminder that the Unison Power Branch AGM will be held on Wednesday 30th March, at 5pm, at the Nottingham Gateway Hotel, a few hundred yards along the A610 from the Phoenix Call Centre.

Dear Unison Power Member,
As you may be aware EON Uk have announced today the sale of its UK Networks Distribution business, Central Networks.
Unison is involved in negotiations moving forward in relation to the TUPE transfer of staff and other terms and conditions issues. These will be dealt with by the establishment of a UK Forum that will oversee the process.
The first meeting of the Forum is due to take place 7 March 2011. Unison will communicate with members following on from this meeting and will update members. It is anticipated that workplace members meetings will also Take place week commencing 17 March 2011.

AGM 2011 – Nomination Deadline
For those seeking election to become an officer of the branch, the deadline for nominations and addresses is 5pm on the 26th February. Nomination forms are below.
Timeline
26th February at 5pm – Deadline for Election Addresses
4th March 2011 – Ballot papers sent out from Region
7th March 2011 – Ballot papers open
28th March 2011 – Ballot closes
29th March 2011 - Results – Ballot papers to be opened by independent scutineers from the Regional Office and the Branch.
30th March 2011 – AGM Results announced

Union Learn Course – ‘Adapting to Change’
Union Learn have organised the following course for union members to help with a number of issues including those worried about redundancies. It’s a one day course in Nottingham. This is primarily for those in public services or who have family members or dependants that will be affected by the cuts. However all are welcome to attend.

March for Public Services on 26th March
On 26th March there will be a march in London to protest about the cuts to public services. More details can be found here:

Unison Power branch have organised a coach from Nottingham to London. There will be a pick up at the Phoenix Park and Ride at 7:30am, followed by a pick up at Mount Street in the City centre at 7:45am.
